Latin phrase "ars longa, vita brevis" , need opinions.?

I wouldn't worry. A great many classic aphorisms are taken out of context, and "ars longa, vita brevis" has long since acquired the more general meaning that most people know - for instance, Longfellow rendered it as "Art is long, and Time is fleeting" in his 1839 A Psalm of Life.
