Playstation Vita music playback?

Will the PS Vita be able to save mp3 files to the hard drive and play them back like the PSP and PS3 could? I've read in multiple places that it is intended not to be a multimedia device like the PSP was and will focus on gaming. To be honest if it doesn't do music and movies i have no interest in buying the Vita and would rather buy a second hand PSP
